2 semester solution

Semester I
  1. The German Alphabeth
    German vowels
    open / closed vowels, Umlaute, Diphtongs
  2. The German Alphabeth
    consonants, treatment of soft consonants in singing, fricatives and plosives and the issue of airflow
  3. The German Alphabeth
    special consonants: ch, st/sp, z, h, voiced and unvoiced s, rolled r and r in context
  4. Consonant accumulation, strong aspiration and the issue of a “harsh” articulated language; how to make use of it, and how to still sing legato
  5. Prefixes, suffixes, phonetic consequences and your navigation through the dictionary; compound words, phonetic consequences and your navigation through the dictionary
  6. Sentence structure, interpunctuation, and their consequence on phrasing
    practise with chosen songs

Semester II​

working through one complete song cycle
outcomes:
